Multi-edge architecture is a computing approach that distributes processing, storage, and AI workloads across multiple edge locations close to where data is generated. Instead of sending all information to a central cloud, edge devices and local computing nodes can process data nearby and exchange results with other edge locations or cloud systems. This can reduce latency, network traffic, and dependence on centralized infrastructure.

For example, a smart factory can use several edge servers across production areas to analyze machine data locally while sharing selected results with a central platform. This enables faster responses and more efficient data handling. Multi-edge architecture is useful for autonomous systems, industrial automation, connected vehicles, smart cities, telecommunications, and real-time AI applications.
