Multi-Agent AI refers to an artificial intelligence system in which multiple specialized AI agents work together to accomplish a task. Each agent can have its own role, capabilities, or objectives, while communicating with other agents to share information and coordinate actions. A central process or agreed workflow may assign tasks, combine results, and manage how the agents collaborate toward a common goal.

For example, an AI customer-service system could use separate agents for understanding requests, retrieving information, checking orders, and preparing responses. Working together can handle complex tasks more efficiently than relying on a single agent. Multi-Agent AI is useful in automation, research, software development, business workflows, robotics, and other applications requiring coordinated problem-solving.
