A Kubernetes Pod is the smallest deployable unit in Kubernetes and represents one or more containers that run together. Containers within a Pod share networking, storage resources, and a common lifecycle. Kubernetes schedules Pods onto cluster nodes and manages their creation, replacement, and availability according to the desired configuration. A Pod typically contains a single application container, although closely related containers can share the same Pod when they need to work together.

For example, a web application might run inside a Pod with its main application container and a supporting container for logging. Pods provide a consistent environment for running workloads and make it easier to deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications across a Kubernetes cluster.
