Image Enhancement is the process of improving the visual quality of a digital image so that important features become clearer, sharper, or easier to interpret. It can involve adjusting brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, resolution, or fine details. Enhancement techniques may use traditional image-processing algorithms or artificial intelligence models to emphasize useful information while reducing visual imperfections.

Image Enhancement is commonly used in photography, medical imaging, satellite imagery, surveillance, microscopy, manufacturing, and digital media. Its purpose is to make images more informative, visually clear, and suitable for further analysis or presentation. For example, enhancement can improve the visibility of details in poorly lit photographs, clarify structures in medical scans, or sharpen images captured by remote sensors. AI-based methods can automatically restore details, improve resolution, and produce more visually refined results.
