Hazard prediction is the process of using data, sensors, and analytical methods to anticipate potentially dangerous conditions before they occur. Instead of only responding to an existing hazard, predictive systems examine current conditions, historical patterns, and changing signals to estimate where and when a safety risk may develop.

Hazard prediction is used in transportation, industrial operations, construction, weather monitoring, robotics, and workplace safety. For example, a system can analyze vehicle speed, road conditions, and surrounding objects to predict a possible collision risk. By identifying warning signs early, hazard prediction can support preventive actions, improve situational awareness, reduce accidents, and help organizations respond to developing risks more effectively.
