Connected Assets are physical devices, equipment, products, or other resources that are linked to digital systems through networks or sensors. This connectivity allows an asset to send and receive information, making it possible to track its condition, location, usage, performance, or operational status without relying entirely on manual inspection.

Connected assets are central to IoT and smart operations, particularly when organizations manage large numbers of distributed resources. For example, industrial machinery can transmit operating data for predictive maintenance, vehicles can share location and diagnostic information, and smart building equipment can report energy consumption. This visibility helps teams monitor assets remotely and respond to changing conditions more effectively.
