CAN Bus (Controller Area Network) is a communication system that allows electronic control units (ECUs) and sensors to exchange data over a shared network without requiring a separate connection between every device. Messages are broadcast across the bus, and each device determines whether the information is relevant to it. CAN also includes mechanisms for message prioritization, error detection, and reliable communication.

CAN Bus is widely used in vehicles to connect systems such as engine control, braking, transmission, airbags, and dashboard electronics. It is also used in industrial machinery and embedded systems where multiple controllers need to communicate efficiently. Related technologies include CAN FD, automotive Ethernet, and LIN.
