Camera Tamper Detection is a security feature that identifies physical or visual changes that interfere with a camera’s normal operation. It can detect conditions such as the camera being moved, tilted, covered, defocused, disconnected, or having its view obstructed, typically by analyzing changes in the video feed or monitoring device status.

This capability helps maintain surveillance coverage in environments where cameras may be deliberately or accidentally disturbed. For example, a security system can generate an alert when a camera lens is covered or its viewing angle changes unexpectedly, allowing personnel to investigate quickly. Tamper detection is commonly integrated with video surveillance systems, camera health monitoring, motion analytics, and security alert platforms.
