Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a computing approach that places processing and storage resources closer to mobile devices and users, often at or near cellular network infrastructure. Instead of sending every request to a distant cloud data center, MEC allows data to be processed locally or nearby, reducing latency, lowering network traffic, and enabling faster responses for mobile applications.

For example, an autonomous vehicle can use nearby edge servers to process traffic information, sensor data, and road conditions with minimal delay. Similarly, mobile users can benefit from MEC when using augmented reality, cloud gaming, real-time video analytics, or other latency-sensitive applications. Mobile Edge Computing is particularly useful for 5G and 6G networks, smart cities, connected vehicles, industrial IoT, healthcare, and applications that require fast and location-aware co
