Machine Vision is a technology that enables machines to interpret and analyze visual information captured by cameras and other imaging devices. It combines cameras, lighting, image-processing techniques, and AI models to identify objects, inspect products, measure dimensions, recognize patterns, and detect changes in a visual scene. Unlike ordinary cameras that simply record images, machine vision systems transform visual data into information that can be used for automated decisions.
For example, on a manufacturing line, a machine vision system can inspect products as they move past a camera and identify scratches, incorrect components, or other defects without stopping production. The system can then automatically separate faulty products from acceptable ones. Machine Vision is widely used in manufacturing, robotics, autonomous vehicles, logistics, agriculture, healthcare, security, and quality inspection.
