Image Classification is a computer vision technique that enables an artificial intelligence system to assign an image to a predefined category based on its visual characteristics. The system analyzes patterns such as shapes, colors, textures, and objects using a trained machine learning or deep learning model. During training, the model learns from labeled images and then uses that knowledge to predict the most appropriate category for new images.

Image Classification is commonly used in healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, security, and autonomous systems. Its purpose is to automate the organization and interpretation of large collections of visual data. For example, it can classify medical scans, identify plant diseases, sort products, or distinguish different objects in photographs. By processing images quickly and consistently, it can reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and support faster, data-driven decisions.
