Camera diagnostics is the process of checking a camera system to identify faults, performance problems, or abnormal behavior in its hardware and software. Diagnostic checks can examine image quality, focus accuracy, exposure, sensor performance, lens condition, connectivity, temperature, frame rate, and other operating parameters to determine whether the camera is functioning as expected.

In computer vision and surveillance systems, diagnostics can help detect issues such as blurred imagery, dead pixels, unstable connections, incorrect exposure, or a misaligned lens before they affect downstream analysis. Automated diagnostic tools can continuously monitor camera health and flag problems for maintenance, making them useful in security, industrial inspection, traffic monitoring, and multi-camera deployments.
