Asset Performance Management (APM) is a structured approach to improving the reliability, availability, efficiency, and overall performance of physical assets throughout their operational life. It combines asset data, condition monitoring, maintenance practices, risk analysis, and performance metrics to understand how equipment is performing and where intervention is needed.

In industrial operations, APM can be applied to equipment such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and processing systems to reduce unplanned downtime and improve maintenance decisions. It helps teams balance asset reliability with maintenance costs and operational risk. APM commonly incorporates predictive maintenance, asset health monitoring, IoT, reliability engineering, and analytics.
